This is an electrical device which use dry heat to sterilize. It can be operated from ambient to 350 °C, using a thermostat to control the temperature. Their double walled insulation keeps the heat in and conserves energy, the inner layer being a poor conductor and outer layer being metallic. There is also an air filled space in between to aid insulation. An air circulating fan helps in uniform distribution of the heat. These are fitted with the adjustable wire mesh plated trays and have an on/off rocker switch, as well as indicators and controls for temperature and holding time. The capacities of these ovens vary.
CONSTRUCTION
These are sturdy double walled units with inner chamber made up of High Grade Stainless Steel & outer chamber made up of Mild Steel Powder Coated. The gap between inner and outer chamber is filled with high-grade glass wool to avoid thermal losses. Beaded heating elements made of kanthal A1 wire are placed in ribs at bottom and sides. Inner chamber is provided with ribs for adjusting perforated shelves to convenient height.
